Hey, I’m Phil. I'm a creative technologist based in Los Angeles; formerly at MAL as Creative Technology Director, Droga5, and other agencies where I delivered for the most iconic brands in the world. I pride myself on launching the iPhone on new platforms for Apple,
hacking the Oscars
with the #GiveHerABreak takeover, reviving Elf Yourself to new life through social media filters, leading a SxSW experience about Android's highly-customizable nature, and brainstorming countless interfaces for ESPN, New Museum, The New York Times, T-Mobile, Google, and more. Anything we dream up, I can bring to life through UX/UI, AR prototypes, 3D executions, data analysis tools, and the list of capabilities goes on. When I'm not at work, I'm always creating personal projects, such as the newly released creative accountability platform Proud Not Proud, Techstars finalist
Clash Audio Experiment
, FWA-winning
AMPERGRAM
, or photomanipulation-blog-turned-global-Snapchat-lens

. With friends, I developed the
Curb Your Video
meme-creator and the controversial Chrome extension
Drop United
, a ProductHunt Product of the Day. I'm an avid techie, addicted to testing out the latest gadgets. My current daily phone combo is the Samsung S22 Ultra and the iPhone 14 Pro and I'm never without one of my Fujifilm cameras. I also participate in the weekly 52Frames project and love to fly my DJI Mini 3 Pro. Mac at work, PC at home. Let's talk tech and collaborative opportunities. Reach out!
Clash lets you type messages using audio samples linked from popular music, movies and TV, viral YouTube videos, historic speeches... from pretty much anywhere! In it's first week, it served up over a MILLION audio clips.
Featured on Mashable and Seventeen, Clash was a Techstars finalist in NYC in 2013, being ranked in the top 0.25% of 1600 entrants.
Make every moment that pretty, pretty awkward moment. Curb Your Video allows users to add the Curb Your Enthusiasm music on top of any YouTube video amazingly simple.
So easy in fact, that TIME named it "PSA of the Day", followed by some love from AV Club, Laughing Squid, and Daily Dot.
Don't just say you're going to boycott. Boycott with technology. Drop United is a Chrome extension that automatically removes United flights from your search results.
Ranking #1 on Product Hunt on launch day, Drop United graced the frontpages of Mashable, The Hill, The Next Web, Thrillist and many more. Hitting 1,000+ active users in the first few days, this Chrome extension definitely took a little off United's bottom line.
What started as some Photoshop fun over a decade ago, turned to an Internet phenomenon. All Nose. No Mouth. Nosemouth was born!
Beginning with just photos, GIFs were added quickly after. Every top humor source on the web picked up the story about the meme, FunnyOrDie, Buzzfeed, Mashable, Tumblr, Laughing Squid, Refinery29, AV Club and tons more. An iOS mobile app followed, and now after two successful Snapchat runs there are a quarter of a BILLION satisfied customers!
Nosemouth is the most important blog on the Internet

AMPERGRAM is an online tool for creating typographic compositions with Instagram photos. After winning an FWA Site of the Day, some shoutouts followed from Swissmiss, Creative Bloq, and Adobe.
*As one of my final Flash projects, AMPERGRAM does not get much love anymore, but could get an HTML revisiting in the future.
After countless female directors were snubbed in the 2020 Oscar nominations for best director, following the public outcry, in cooperation with Mojo Supermarket, we created #GiveHerABreak, a portal to watch the ABC livestream of the Oscars, with all of the ad breaks featuring trailers of those female directors.
After nearly 20k strong visited the website through the week in support of the cause, come time for the ceremony thousands joined in and 5k trailers were served up via our team. Variety, Forbes, The Guardian, and Chicago Tribune were among the local outlets to feature the project, and even globally through a radio interview with the BBC.
